Inside Hancocks

It is no secret that here at Hancocks we have an affinity with old cut diamonds and we also have a particular love for vintage Asscher cut diamonds. The cut was designed by Joseph Asscher in 1902 in an attempt to best utilise the natural shape of octahedral diamond crystals. A masterpiece of geometric form, the old cut Asschers are so different to their modern counterparts, the larger cut corners, higher crowns, smaller tables and tighter faceting make them much more lively than a modern version, their eye-catching fire can even rival a brilliant cut. Click below to see our current collection of Hancocks rings featuring the finest vintage Asscher cut diamonds.
