Jewel of The Month - March 2025

Evoking the unmistakable elegance of the Roaring Twenties, this sautoir by Marsh & Co. has been chosen by Hancocks London as its Jewel of the Month for March.

The sautoir, dated circa 1925, is strung with four rows of small natural pearls. These perfectly balanced rows are interspersed with platinum and diamond dividers, enhancing its inherent grandeur.

At its centre lies an oval-cut diamond of approximately 1.10 carats, framed by intricate platinum openwork and a diamond-set border— a striking focal point that epitomises the period’s artistry. Suspended beneath, a tassel of cascading natural pearls flow from a finely pierced platinum and diamond cap, adding movement, drama, and a touch of theatrical glamour.

The impeccable craftsmanship extends to the reverse, where an ornate tongue-and-box clasp, set with an old mine cushion-cut diamond, ensures the necklace is as eye-catching from every angle as it is from the front.
