Vintage Gold Chains

“I’ve long looked lovingly at these vintage chains by Cartier, what’s not to love about the anchor and Santos link, they are so timeless. It’s something I’d wear every day and in multiple ways, layered up with other pieces or wrapped around a wrist several times. They’re also great to hang a pendant from. The weight makes it feel reassuringly expensive.”
Van Cleef & Arpels diamond bracelet and cuff
“I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say this is probably the best diamond cuff in the world. This Van Cleef & Arpels bracelet is just knockout. It’s so beautifully engineered you feel like you’re wearing nothing at all, until you look down and see rows of pavé set diamonds with a ‘molten’ gold border. Like all good jewellery, it works as well with jeans and a t-shirt as it does with a formal gown. Need.”
“This vintage diamond and platinum ‘Natte’ (braid) bracelet by VCA, circa 1960, is a wardrobe game changer. I love statement pieces like this, not only does it dazzle like crazy – you are blinded by 50 carats of sparkle - but the quality and flexibility is just second to none and you feel that when you wear it. It’s standout.”
Hancocks handcrafted rings
“Next to diamonds, emeralds are my favourite and there’s something so alluring about the intensity of colour when it comes to a Colombian emerald. The east-west setting and impeccably matched side stones makes it feel fresh.”
“I love this emerald cut 5.38 carat ring, there’s something super modern about this particular cut, combined with the bezel setting in gold.”
“I’ve always liked the masculine feeling of a Gypsy set ring. This one boasts an antique Asscher cut, and it’s a real beauty.”
Georgian revival earrings
“This style of earring has become popular again in recent years, but you’re unlikely to see anyone else wearing them this size: 13.24 carats of the sparkliest, prettiest cushion cut diamonds. They light up your face like nothing else. I fell in love with them as soon as I saw them. Wearing a pair of earrings like this, you actually don’t need anything else ever again, and when you think about it, they’re also an entirely selfless act since earrings are for everyone else’s enjoyment and admiration (unless of course you sit in front of a mirror all day, which I might do if I had these).”
