Jewel of The Month - March 2026
A pair of vintage diamond flower earrings has been selected by Hancocks London as its Jewel of the Month for March.
Dating circa 1956, the earrings, signed Van Cleef & Arpels, New York, are a wonderful example of mid-century design, seamlessly combining sculptural elegance with meticulous gem-setting.
Each earring is designed as a stylised flower, centred with a round brilliant cut diamond and framed by baguette-cut diamonds, while the gently curved petals are pavé set with circular-cut diamonds. Mounted in platinum, the earrings retain their original clip fittings, a testament to their enduring style and functional elegance.
With a total of 172 round brilliant cut diamonds (approximately 6.69ct) and 18 baguette cut diamonds, the earrings capture light from every angle.
Amy Burton, Creative Director, Hancocks London, said: “These earrings are a beautiful example of 1950s design and a reminder of the enduring appeal of vintage fine jewellery. Renowned for their precision and artistry, vintage Van Cleef & Arpels pieces like these are highly coveted by collectors, admired for their exceptional gem quality, carefully considered proportions and craftsmanship, creating timeless and wearable jewels to be loved for a lifetime.”
