Jewel of The Month - August 2026

An antique diamond fringe necklace by Carlo & Arthur Giuliano, circa 1900, has been selected as Hancocks London Jewel of the Month for August.

The necklace is designed as a fringe of seven articulated openwork panels, set with almost 10 carats of old brilliant cut diamonds in silver backed with gold, and suspended from a gently curved line of old brilliant cut diamonds. It secures to the reverse with a concealed tongue and box clasp.

Giuliano jewels have been loved by royalty, pre-Raphaelite artists, museums, connoisseurs and collectors alike. Distinctive, rare and of unparalleled craftmanship, the jewels have remained consistently collectible.

When this necklace was made Giuliano had retail premises in London, at 115 Piccadilly, which were ran by Carlo & Arthur Giuliano, continuing on the legacy of their late father. Prior to this Piccadilly store, circa 1860s, Carlo Giuliano had a workshop in Soho and retailed his jewels through well respected and established London jewellers of the time, which included C.F. Hancock, or as known today, Hancocks London.

Amy Burton, Creative Director, Hancocks London, says: “Giuliano jewels are rare treasures, ones such as this necklace, fully diamond set are even rarer. Renowned for exceptional craftsmanship and intricate Revivalist designs influenced by ancient and archaeological jewels, Giuliano jewels are always a true joy to behold, and we are excited to have this one added to our collection.”
