Director’s Notes

A jeweller’s jeweller, the Georges Lenfant workshop was not only a Cartier workmaster but also made jewellery for many of the top Parisian houses of the Place Vendome and rue de la Paix. The list was extensive and impressive, they could be described as the unsung heroes of 20th Century French jewellery. When this bracelet was created Jacques Lenfant, Georges’ son, was leading the workshop and Jacques name is now synonymous with the gold chain work that has become instantly recognisable now as Lenfant. He was fascinated by the art of the goldsmith and perfected unique and complex techniques of working with the gold to create these exceptional creative, timeless jewels. Lenfant jewels are highly collectible and sought after by jewellery afficionados and collectors worldwide.
