2.01ct Carré cut Diamond Ring With Diamond Honeycomb Shoulders
An elegant step cut diamond ring by Hancocks, set to the centre with a beautiful vintage Carré cut diamond weighing 2.01cts and of D colour and VVS1 clarity in double corner claws to a simple double bar gallery between shoulders set with three bullet cut diamonds each side forming a stylised honeycomb pattern, all in a finely hand crafted platinum mount with knife edge band. This is a classic ring given a modern twist with the honeycomb shoulders which play up the geometric nature of this particular diamond cut. Long straight facets create an icy look with subtle sparkle and a mirror-like quality as the light is reflected around the stone’s flat planes, creating an infinitely elegant look.

Director’s Notes
This is a very rare Carré cut diamond dating from the Art Deco period. It is a four-sided unlike it's step cut cosuins (emerald cuts and asscher cuts which are octagonal with cut corners). This creates a beautifully pure step cut facetting which draws your eye to the centre of the stone. Many of these old Carré cut diamonds were repolished into the more commercial emerald and asschers cuts later in the 20th Century, so we truly treasure such a remarkable stone such as this.
