Director’s Notes
The ‘Toi et Moi’ (meaning you and me) idea is symbolised by the two stones, sometimes matching as in this case, other times contrasting. Perhaps the most famous example of this style of ring is the engagement ring given to Josephine de Beauharnais by Napoleon Bonaparte and it is one that has recently seen a revival in popularity with many different interpretations of the idea.
