Director’s Notes

In creating the Covalent collection Amy sought to combine her interest in the science of gemstones with her passion for design. Inspired by the structure of diamonds at an atomic level, she has created a varied line of jewels from wearable daytime pieces to those dedicated to evening glamour. The name Covalent refers to the particular type of bonding that is shared by the carbon atoms that make up a diamond. The geometric three dimensional forms produced by these linked atoms have been cleverly translated into bold and beautiful jewels. All handcrafted in 18ct yellow and white gold and set with round brilliant diamonds, the pieces are finely articulated to create subtle movement thereby imbuing them with a restrained kinetic energy. Each jewel is an embodiment of the beauty to be found when science and art collide.
