A whimsical double headed swan ring by Van Cleef & Arpels c.1970s, the bypass style ring in 18ct yellow gold designed as two matching swans heads crossing over each other and facing opposite directions, formed of carved and fluted black onyx, the necks embellished with a diamond and emerald collar, the beaks with pavé set diamonds and the eyes highlighted with round emeralds, the heads tapering down into a plain gold D-shape band.

Director’s Notes
This charming ring was part of VCA’s ‘la boutique’ offering, a concept which they had launched in 1954 which aimed to sell fine jewellery to a younger clientele. Amongst these pieces were a range of charming animal jewels which proved hugely popular with many clients and became highly collectible.
